Iridium Studios’ Lunasee was revealed as a Samsung Gear VR exclusive title back in September 2014, and now owners of the mobile virtual reality (VR) device can download the videogame. What’s more, Lunasee is available for free.
According to VRFocus, Lunasee was originally little more than a side project for Iridium Studios: “Honestly, we were just bored on Sundays,” said Jason Wishnov, CEO of Iridium Studios. “Football season hadn’t started yet, so what else were we going to do? Exercise? Please. We’re proud to do our part to advance humanity toward exploring virtual worlds and subsisting on feeding tubes in only the barest fading semblance of a fulfilling human life.”
Describing Lunasee, Iridium Studios state that in the videogame the player uses a betting mechanic that has players race for a high score, shooting down flying targets ‘in an environment totally not similar in any way to anything named Tron‘. The player uses the touchpad on the side of the Samsung Gear VR energy bolts ‘definitely not reminiscent of a mutant with a name anywhere even close to Cyclops’.
Lunasee is part of the latest update for Samsung Gear VR’s Oculus Home app, with more to come very soon. GearVR.uk will keep you updated with all the latest apps launching on Oculus Home for Gear VR.
