Photo sharing service Flickr is the latest to join the virtual reality (VR) race today. The company has launched a new app for the Gear VR head-mounted display (HMD) that allows viewers to step inside of their 360 degree photos. The free content provides access to over 60,000 360 degree images that viewers can look around with head-tracking technology as if they were actually there themselves.
FlickR is committed to inspiring photographers worldwide by creating world-class tools and beautiful photo displays across new and emerging devices,” an official description for the app reads. “With Flickr’s growing corpus of more than 60,000 VR photos, be the first to explore one of the largest and most beautiful collections of 360 degree images in the world.”
GearVR.UK will continue to follow the latest updates on the Gear VR, reporting back with any further progress.
