Oculus VR Store Update Adds Additional Languages and More

The Oculus Store is a virtual reality (VR) content platform for Samsung’s Gear VR head-mounted display. The store has recently been updated. In the update the company has patched known issues relating to the platform. Usually these content updates have new apps to release however this time it is stated on Reddit that it has been focused on improving the user experience and expanding on other features.

First of all, the Oculus VR Store now comes in several different languages including English, French, Italian, German, two types of Spanish and Korean. This multi-lingual functionality comes while the device is set to release in European countries. Coupled with this, is the developer’s option to keep content regional locked. It is suggested that this may be to do with currency however nothing has been announced.

Certain applications have been patched as well, including Samsung’s own sharing platform MilkVR’s bug in which it would drop out, however it is stated that part of this problem is also the fact that the company wants the app restricted to the USA for now. Other apps will require a fresh install, including: Anshar Wars, VRtillery, Ikarus and MilkVR. Others that are updated do not require a fresh install including: Nighttime Terror, Bomb Squad, Rocket Toss, Vanguard V. The following have been given multi-lingual support in the latest patch: Oculus Cinema Oculus 360 Videos and Oculus 360 Photos
